Before I start, I want to mention that if and when I do a ‘haul‘ on a single item, I will write at the top of the post wether it is a rave or dislike post, so you can get a general idea or gist of what my opinions are of the product; so away we go…
R A V E
So lately a lot of people have been asking me what foundation I use as my skin appears to look “flawless” and “bright” and I owe it all to this foundation – the L’oreal Lumi Magique Light Infusing Foundation – this blogpost isn’t much of a haul just more of a review on this particular product.
I had briefly talked about this product previously, in [T H I S] blogpost when I did a first impressions review on a few of the L’oreal products that I had brought recently at the time. However, after getting a lot of comments about my foundation I had decided to do a full in-depth review on this product, seeing as I’m on my second bottle and almost out of it, I think it’s okay to say I’ve used this product enough times to give my opinions on it. So click on this post to read more on how I apply the product and why I love it so much that I’m even going to buy a third bottle!
Okay, so the bottle itself is quite nice and I love that it has a pump attached to it as it makes application so much cleaner and I’m able to control the amount or quantity of foundation I need – which is a great start to the product.
Now what my best kept secret to a bright, luminous look is the primer! Before I apply my foundation I prep my face with the [Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer] as I believe that together they work amazingly and I’ve noticed that my makeup lasts for a long time without budging; it also adds the look of a luminous healthy glow – what I have also noticed is that there isn’t any of that fine glitter or shimmer that foundations tend to have to imitate the glowy look which is awesome because the overall application appears more natural and dewy without that fake plastic look that other foundations tend to give.
I love to apply this product using the [Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge] by squirting a pump of foundation directly onto the damp sponge and bouncing the sponge into the skin, I don’t glide the sponge/foundation over my skin as I don’t want the product to streak or to just sit on top of the skin, I want it to be fully immersed into the skin and fine lines hence why I bounce it in the skin. I find this motion and technique tends to help in achieving that flawless look. I did previously use the real technique brushes to apply my foundation which I then buffed in, however out of the two methods of application this is the one that’s working for me best!
What I didn’t realise before is that the foundation has an added SPF 18, which to me is an added bonus! It makes me love the product even more so knowing that it has some form of protection against the sun! Every little protection helps make-up lovers! One of the major reasons why this foundation works so well in achieving a dewy, radiant finish is that it has these light infusing technology/beads which reflects light making the wearer achieve that healthy, dewy look.
I have normal-to-dry skin and for me this product is extremely hydrating and doesn’t dry out over the day as I do not feel the need to touch up at all and doesn’t highlight any dry patchy areas should I have any that particular day. It also gives me a good medium-to-full coverage which is perfect for when I want to look a bit more flawless and doll-like. Although, I have to admit when I first apply the foundation on using the sponge it does look the tiniest bit cakey, but trust me, give it a couple of minutes and just let the foundation oxidise and settle into the skin a little, then you’ll look gorgeous.
For me this foundation beats any other foundations that I own, ehem, chanel and maybelline, as it really highlights and luminates my face a lot. I don’t mess with my skin too much so when I find something that works really well without irritating it, I stick to it.
As you can tell I highly rate this product and recommend it to everyone, well at least try/test it out. Although, I have to be honest I’m not sure 100% how amazing it’ll work on oily skin. If you have oily skin and you’ve tried this product leave your comments below as I’d love to know how it works for you, because if it’s working a treat for you, I’mma also recommend it to all my oily-skinned girlfriends that I have, haha x
Hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and I want to know how you get on with this foundation.
