Peace Be Upon You
The formula of this itself is amazing, very light and dewy! I was really looking forward to using this because I love using the lumi magique foundation and thought this would give me a great light coverage for the days where I want to feel light and fresh.
The light really bounces of the skin – that’s on a good day. On a bad day I look ashy as heck and I don’t know why. At a first glance the shade looks golden and swatches up golden too, aka yellow undertone, however lately it comes up looking pale and pink which I honestly don’t understand – and for a not so cheap drugstore product it’s a pain to see this go to waste – I don’t know if it’s oxidised weirdly.
The worst thing about this product for me is the bloody applicator, so foul and such a disgusting concept. I’m not a fan of the sponge it comes with because the product sits on it entirely and it’s not something you can clean easily. The amount of product that’s eaten up by this sponge is not cool and I have a hard time applying it on my face. I like my makeup to be simple and quick to apply, I wake up early enough for work and I don’t want to wake up that 5 minutes extra if I don’t have too.
I’ve used this with the sponge it comes with, a brush and a real technique sponge, and I’ve found that a stipling brush works most efficiently with this product.
The product is very gimmicky but the actual foundation and formula is lovely, very light and bouncy, my skin actually feels like it can breathe, which is what I’ve always wanted! It’s a shame the colours off and the application is just ‘extra’. Personally for me, I would not re-purchase this item, as I’m hardly using it now and would much rather pay that extra bit more to use a Laura Mercier tinted foundation.
I do hope this helps with your decision making when contemplating this product.
