Peace Be Upon You
*SUPER LATE UPLOAD, but that’s what happens when you have a newborn xoxo*
Bangladesh Fashion Week was hosted on 07.10.2017 at East Wintergarden, Bank Street, London – a lovely space and a great size although the location is far to get too (Canary Wharf, well for me anyways).
Here’s a super short vlog of my travels into London on when I went to Bangladesh Fashion Week and I wanted to see what it was all about and what talent our Bengali designers had to offer.
My thoughts on the event was that it was on too late in the evening (7pm-10pm), for anyone who’s travelling into London this could be a problem as public transport isn’t always reliable, especially on a weekend – as a result, I left midway through the show and missed out on what looked like some incredible designers in the second half (I stalked social media to see the rest) – and I still got home closer to midnight despite leaving halfway.
Having said that, the event was lovely, there was enough space to network and opportunities to take photos – as I was late arriving, I didn’t do either – plus I was way too shy to approach anyone. I was one month post partum and I was super self-conscious and my body confidence was at it’s lowest so I decided to hang out in the shadows and check out the event from there :’) Lol.
My only critique of the actual show is the choice of music used, it’s very questionable at time and it would have been lovely to hear some bengali and tradition folklore music throughout the shows. I feel as though some of music selection just ruined the theme and vibes of the shows, it just didn’t make sense. The entertainment was interesting and lovely though. OOTD

Would I go again? Yes I would. I enjoyed seeing what my fellow Bengalis had to offer. Hopefully, next time I’ll be able to vlog properly and stay for the full show! xoxo
