First Impressions || Skincare Empties with Korres & Caudalie

As-Salaamu Alaikum
Peace Be Upon You

This post is a quick empties review of the following skincare I’ve managed to finish up by Caudalie and Korres! ūüíÉūüíÉ I’ve spoken about my love and interests for Caudalie [here] when I was reviewing some of their travel skincare for you.

I came across Korres on Fabled Beauty when I was looking for affordable skincare – and that is exactly what they are – affordable skincare. I’ve never heard or seen them before but all I know is that they are a Greek brand.

Here’s what I tried out and here’s what I thought of the following products; I’ll start off with:

CAUDALIE // Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum

I vividly remember using this product during my pregnancy because I was getting super comfortable with my skin whereby I would leave the house countless of times without makeup. It was a period in my life where I barely wore any makeup yet I got the most glowing compliments. It’s a very lightweight serum that the skin absorbs really quickly so you’re able to move to the next step of your skincare. My face loved this stuff and it felt buoyant, soft and all round hydrated providing that healthy skin glow. Key ingredients include grape water and Hyaluronic Acid – which we all know is a must-have ingredient in skin care – it aids in rejuvenating the upper layer of the skin – providing an even resurface. Highly recommend this product and I can’t wait to repurchase. I’ve been loving a lot of products from Caudalie as of late and definitely one of my go-to skincare brands.

KORRES // Wild Rose Brightening Face Mask Р16ml && Pomegranate Cleansing Mask Р16ml

Now, I don’t usually review two products at once but I’ve just had the same opinion for both products and that is – I don’t like them. I’m not too fond of their mask due to its thick texture, it didn’t feel light and I felt like my skin couldn’t breathe, which is the opposite of what you expect when masking. I also didn’t notice any changes when using them. With so many masks on the street, you can definitely spend your money elsewhere and get instant results.

KORRES // Wild Rose Hydrating & Brightening Moisturiser for Normal/ Dry – 40ml

I wanted to really like this product and I kind of did. Throughout using this product I did notice my face appeared a lot brighter – and with glowy skin means hydrated plump skin. BUUUUUTTT it was so thick, I’m not sure if you can tell from the swatch that it was very clay like. Can you tell I don’t like products that take a lot of work? So I used it mainly as a night cream – which was good enough. I’m not exactly wowed by anything that feels like hard work unfortunately and this didn’t feel therapeutic either. I’ve also learned that I’m not a fan of rose smelling products.

I guess some could say this is a disappointing review, but I’d like to say honest. I didn’t enjoy many of the products I’ve purchased on this occasion – you win some and lose some.
Have you tried these products? If so what were your thoughts as I’d love to know?

Until my next post xoxo

First Impression || My secret french saviours aver Caudalie

As-Salaamu Alaikum
Peace Be Upon You

Hey loves, I want to share with you my ultimate skincare mini travel companions available in this handy set:
CAUDALIE  ||  Travel French Beauty Secret Set Р£22.00

I’ve already repurchased this before and I honestly honestly recommend to all, it comes in a nifty skincare bag. Travel sets are a perfect way of trying a little bit of everything from a brand for a fraction of the cost!¬†Considering the mini beauty elixir on it’s own is ¬£12, for a tenner more you get to sample other products, so for me this is definitely a steal and a great way to try out new products or have handy travel sized products ready to take on the go when needed (i.e. visits to moms or a quick city break).What’s included & My thoughts:

Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet 10ml
I have normal/dry skin and I prefer light textured moisturisers. This sorbet style moisturiser was absolutely lovely, the whipped light consistency was unique and felt super light and feathery on the skin. My skin absorbed it really quickly, which made it my go to moisturiser before wearing makeup as it didn’t feel greasy.
I absolutely love the vinosource range (especially their serum) which is what convinced me to slowly but surely transition all my skincare range to Caudalie.

Beauty Elixir 30ml
This isn’t no award winning product for a reason. It has a very distinct smell to it, you either love it or hate it. I absolutely love this product, I cannot remember how its existence came into my life nor do I remember when, but all I do remember is that it’s been a part of skincare regimen for a long time and definitely one item I cannot do without. I promise I use this stuff religiously, it tones, tightens and preps my skin – letting me have good skin day, everyday – with or without makeup!
How I typically use this is before wearing makeup and then re-spritz it when my makeup needs a bit of zing and refreshening.

Instant Detox Mask 15ml
A good cleansing clay based mask. I’m not 100% sure about it and don’t think i’d repurchase as I do have my favourites already. However, this is a good nifty little one for on the go, perfect little travel buddy. It does make the skin feel a little tight afterwards, so a lovely thick moisturiser is needed afterwards.

Micellar water 30ml
A good product, works well but nothing exciting pops out as it works like any other micellar water that’s on the market.

Premier Cru Eye Cream 5ml
I’m really bad at remembering to use eye creams but I’ve really made an effort with this one and can say I’m really enjoying using it. It’s made my under eyes look brighter, hydrated and glowy. There’s definitely a healthier sheen under the eye when I use this product. After a consistent usage I’ve noticed the lines under my eyes are minimal – however, I wouldn’t say it’s great for removing the darkness. Bold claims I know, but whether thats from staying hydrated or getting a lot of sleep, my under eyes have been looking and feeling great with consistent usage of this product.

I hope you enjoyed reading this mini review, I believe you can currently purchase this from Space NK – I typically purchase mine from Fabled but I currently cannot see it there. xoxo

First Impressions || Elemis (Fabled +Discount Code)

As-Salaamu Alaikum
Peace Be Upon You

I’ve been super in to skin care more so than ever! A¬†perfect base requires minimal makeup and gives that really nice flawless finish. I’m all for a bright dewy glow to the skin hence investing heavy on skincare & my water intake.

Now this post is long over due, the reason? I felt the need to use these products for as long as possible, to give the most honest opinion, so I do hope this helps.
Back in late January, I purchased these two Elemis gift sets from Fabled¬†on sale (fyi, you get 15% off with your first shop with the discount code: WELCOME15, so I got an even bigger discount than the sale price shown below.) *EDIT* They’re celebrating their 1 year birthday with ¬£10 off a¬†¬£50 spend with the code: BIRTHDAY10 (not sure if both vouchers can be used at once though, but feel free to split your orders in two consecutive days to benefit from them!).
ELEMIS   ||  Smooth Solutions Gift Set Р£52.00 £39.00
ELEMIS  ||  Skin Energy Secrets Gift Set  Р£89.00 £66.75

They no longer have these gift sets in stock as they were Xmas leftovers, however there are other Elemis gift sets available on the website HERE, a mixture of full size and travel size products included.

The reason I purchased the following two items is because all the products catered to anti-ageing properties with active cell renewal ingredients, which is the first step to warding of saggy skin and ensuring your skin is constantly smoothed and buoyantly hydrated.
fullsizeoutput_2360fullsizeoutput_235dfullsizeoutput_235cfullsizeoutput_235eNow in the boxes you get full sized products (except for the night cream) hence I justified the price above. Inside you get:

ELEMIS  ||  Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask РSkin Smoothing Mask
I adore this mask, it’s a super quick gentle exfoliant and refreshing to use. I tend to leave it on for 10-15mins before an event or when I need a quick pick me up as it helps with the appearance of smooth skin – filling in tired lines and dull looking skin. I love the tingly cold sensation you get when applying this gel mask (similar feeling to using Caudalie’s beauty elixir, but doesn’t smell the same) due to the active ingredients. The fragrance on this is quite lovely and welcoming. This is a lovely welcome to my skincare regimen and a strong forerunner out of all the products mentioned today to be repurchased.

ELEMIS  ||  Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash РSkin Smoothing Cleanser
Like the above product, this has a great tingly sensation and smells lovely, which I adore. I prefer to use this as part of my night time skin care regimen after I’ve taken my makeup off. I’ll use an Erborian Konjac Sponge as part of my double cleanse, and boy does it pick up any hidden dirt. It’s such a gentle exfoliator it can definitely be used daily. It claims to encourage the skins natural cell renewal cycle, which after a long term use I can vouch for as my forehead complexion appears so much cleaner, even and radiant.
Overall, I love that it makes my skin feel super refreshed and plump at the end of the night – a great feeling before bed. Again this smoothing range of products appear to be my favourite and strong contenders to be repurchased or at least give their other products in this range a go.

ELEMIS  ||  Biotec Skin Energising Cleanser РSkin Activating Cleanser

My most used cleanser at the moment is the one above, so I haven’t used this as much as I would’ve liked too. I’ve used it a couple of times just to feel a gist of it and it is again a lovely product, that lathers up a lot more in comparison to the one above and I can see why it’s a staple in a lot of people’s skincare cabinet as it brightens up dull skin, leaving it feeling refreshed!¬†Again it’s great as part of a double cleanse system – and is stated to be “charged with a trio of acids in an energising electrolyte solution, the deep cleansing action helps reduce surface oils and impurities, whilst helping to rebalance the skin.” Now I don’t have oily skin, more normal-to-dry skin however my skin feels noticeably cleaner when I use this product with a konjac sponge.¬†Out of the two facial cleansers I am leaning much more towards the resurfacing one above as I adore the tingle, plumping sensation – but this is a good second runner up for sure.

ELEMIS  ||  Biotec Skin Energising Day Cream РSkin Activating Day Cream
I have dry skin and this product did a great job in making my skin feel plump and bright, which creates the illusion of young, fresh skin which is great considering they use natural ingredients (& acids). The only downside is that if you have a problem dry problem area, it won’t help. During the winter months and change in seasons my skin can get dry patches and unfortunately this product didn’t help that, however aside from that the overall appearance of the skin was plumper, smoother and brighter.¬†It leaves the skin super soft and not slick, so makes it a great base before applying make-up. I think we may need to thank the¬†“electrolytes, anti-oxidants and water plantain peptides” which are known for their hydrating and nourishing properties which are all packed inside.
The only reason I will NOT be repurchasing this product at the moment is because it doesn’t tick all the boxes for me, I did occasionally have trouble with the pump also as the distribution of both products wasn’t even – I found that I needed two pumps per use, which isn’t economically friendly for me at the moment as they currently retail¬†¬£75.00 online on Fabled (hence why it’s always worth getting the gift box sets!). Until both these elements are ‘resolved‘ (I used this term lightly) I will continue my search for a dupe *sigh of sadness*.

ELEMIS  ||  Biotec Skin Energising Cleanser РSkin Activating Cleanser Night Cream
Like the above day moisturiser, this night cream was light on the skin and added a youthful plump look to the skin, which was noticeable in the mornings. Again, I used two pumps at the end of my night time skincare regimen (also had pump issues, please change the pumps Elemis). As this was a sample size (half the product received) I obviously finished it way more quicker than the other products and was able to notice the follow things whilst using it: hydrated skin, a protective thick barrier was on the skin which my skin drank up quiiiiick Рleaving my skin to feel super bouncy in the morning.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Having tried the Elemis range I am a huge converter for sure. Initially I thought it was a brand that was too expensive and out of my reach for every-day use but in terms of the cleansing products honestly a little goes a long way and your money is definitely stretched to the fullest.¬†Out of all the products I much prefer the masks and facial washes as opposed to their moisturisers. I think I’ll go back to the Caudalie vinosource moisturising sorbet for that – as that product is lovely, light, effortless and create a facetune feel/ illusion, haha.

Ultimately, I know everything I’ve said about this moisturiser is great, however I just cannot justify the price of the moisturisers to be constantly repurchasing them. I feel as though there are cheaper alternatives out there. I’m not skimpy when it comes to using skincare products – I like to lather and cake my skin in moisturiser. So I know i’ll be racing through my wallet with these products and frankly I’m not ready for that commitment ūüė¶ On a side note I do feel as though Elemis need to rework their packaging for these moisturisers as the double pump system just ain’t working evenly for me.

I’m a huge skincare junkie guys, so if there’s a review you’d like to see, let your girl know and you’ll be sure to see it in good time xoxo

Empties || Perfume Edition

As-Salaamu Alaikum
Peace Be Upon You

I’ve not been obsessed with perfumes as much as I have been as¬†when I was younger. I’ve realised I really like sweet, fresh and floral scents – nothing too heavy either.
I’ve made it a mission to clear out my perfume stash before I really invest in some other lovely pieces. I’ve been collecting these empty bottles to share with you before I dispose of them – and ta-da here they are:

1 РGUCCI  ||  Flora by Gucci РGorgeous Gardenia
I love Gucci perfumes, I feel as though they know exactly how to curate them. This perfume reminds me of summer! A beautiful flirty floral scent, definitely smells like gardenia’s! As this really is heavy on the floral notes I would repurchase the Gracious Tuberose perfume from the same range as it’s much more crisper, cleaner and fresher scent. The floral notes aren’t as heavy as this one!

2 РZARA  ||  Sugar Rose
A light musky¬†fragrance. I like to pick up these cheaper perfumes for my work/uni bag where I don’t mind if the bottle gets tossed about and I can sprits as much as I want on the go! A really lovely go to spritz for everyday use!

3 РJUICY COUTURE  || Juicy Couture pour Femme
This was one of my first “high end” perfumes I remember splurging in. I was on a trip in New York, went to the flagship store on Madisons Fifth Avenue and purchased this perfume in a gift box set.¬†At 16 years old, this was a very grown up scent for me.
It was a slightly deep floral scent with sweet warm vanilla undertones. I remember at the time I loved it! However, when I got back to the UK, many months later the scent wasn’t quite the same anymore so I struggled to use it over the years. I think I prefer their viva la juicy version as it’s a great young, fun, sweet scent!

4 РVICTORIA SECRETS  ||  Pure Seduction
I discovered VS on the same New York trip as above and fell in love. However these items were purchased as soon as the Bond Street flagship store opened in London, hence the super old packaging! Their body mists are absolutely perfect for when you get out the shower (I don’t like to spray directly on my skin, but once clothed). This particular scent is extremely popular and is veryyyy sweet and light “Red plum and freesia”. If you like super sweet scents just go check this out (most their mists are always on offer!)

5 РGUCCI  ||  Gucci Guilty
Mmmmmmm *insert drool face*. A deep floral scent. Would definitely repurchase. A great one for the evenings and outings.

6 –¬†VICTORIA SECRETS ¬†|| ¬†Heavenly
This is a slightly muskier tone with sweet vanilla undertones. Again a quick body mist. Really great for the work/ uni handbag! Not one I’d personally repurchase,¬†only because I feel as though this scent fades ever so quickly, it’s not as long lasting as I would’ve hoped.

Scents are super hard to express in words, so hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post. I would highly recommend checking out Gucci perfumes for special occasions and the VS body mists for everyday quick uses! xoxoInstagram¬†¬†|| ¬†Twitter¬†¬†|| ¬†Tumblr¬† || Youtube

Product Regrets | Balmain, Veet, Tweezerman, Urban Decay

As-Salaamu Alaikum
Peace Be Upon You

I need to share with y’all some things you should never be fooled into! Believe me sisters, the following products I mention were a¬†complete and utter disappointment, rubbish or just plain useless.IMG_2967BALMAIN PARIS¬† || ¬†Ivoire Eau de Parfum – 30ml – ¬£16.99

Okay first up you’d think with such a youthful brand this would be a fun, sexy or seductive scent; it’s anything but!¬†It’s a very old, grown up smell, the kind that belongs on elderly ladies. If you like that Avon Far Away scent or Christian Dior Poison then this is in your category of perfumes, just the kind¬†my mother would appreciate, hence I’ll be ‘gifting’ it to her.IMG_2970Okay okay, I’m asian, we have thick strong black hair and that means I have a very prominent and visible upper lip! I’m tried a lot of things to tame that lip (aside from laser) and the following two products are epic fails!!

VEET  ||  High Precision Facial Wax
The wax¬†on this thing is just bad, and when applied on the upper lips it just doesn’t work, the consistency is very gel like an doesn’t hold onto the hairs. I honestly have nothing more to share. It just doesn’t work.

TWEEZERMAN  ||  Facial Hair Remover Р£20.00
Honestly the biggest waste of money and I want to cry, I’m so disappointed with this product because I had high hopes for it, seeing as it’s tweezerman and all. It’s a gimmicky item, which does try its hardest to work but it just doesn’t. You’re supposed to hold the pink handles and rotate them inwards, I just find my knuckles bash in together and I find that it doesn’t grab everything so tweezing is required or I have to wait for it to grow and use wax strips. It defeats the purpose of what it’s supposed to be and twice the work required. Not impressed, especially because it was a blooming ¬£20.00!!!!

Okay before anyone judges me, I found these two in the deepest darkest corner of a random box which only resurfaced during a move, and from what I remember, ¬†I didn’t like them.

Urban Decay  ||  Eyeshadow Primer Potion Р10ml
Urban Decay  ||  Lip Primer Potion Р2g
The following primers are items I wouldn’t recommend. At the time of when I purchased this, I was just discovering makeup and in all honesty I wasn’t loving it, the primer colour was just off against my skin tone, and to me it felt like such an unnecessary step to complete. However, I won’t lie, for those major glam moments a primer is a must, but I feel like any nude base cream eyeshadow will do the job and apply the shadow on for longer, no need to dig deep into your pockets to fork out for this little item.

The lip primer in particular is just an utter waste of money because a little bit of lip creme or lip liner to stop the bleeding will do the job well, as great of an idea as it is, I don’t think you need this in your makeup kits girls. I remember it being very thick on my lips and leaving a tack. The best thing to do to your lips is exfoliate them! Don’t bother with this primer, doesn’t make sense to fill your lines with this. To get the perfect colour to stay on all you need to do is Exfoliate > Line > Apply, you can easily get away with priming your lips, trust me.

I hope you enjoy! Until the next post x

HAUL & First Impressions || Space NK ft GlamGlow

As I sit here typing away, I already have the face masking sitting on my face and working it’s tingly magic all over my skin. I scraped every little last bit that I could from the jar, because this mask does not come cheap!IMG_3623
GlamGlow || Youthmud Р15ml Р£25.00
GlamGlow || Youthmud Р30ml Р£50.00
When I first stepped foot into Space NK, I went in looking for a chemical¬†peel off mask from REN, instead I walked out with the 15ml GlamGlow Youthmud Mask – which is a tingling and exfoliating face mask – and two other travel size products. Why of all products did I walk out with this item you ask? – simply because I was a gullible little soul which fell into the hype of the sales assistant (fair play to her though, she did an excellent job!) Now, I’m not saying this is a terrible product, because it is far from it, it is quite the opposite, it’s incredible! Continue reading the post to hear the rest of my experience with this product, and the other two items.
